FAQ

Why don't WASD keys work? Because this is Subspace. Arrow keys to fly, Ctrl to shoot, Tab for bombs. Muscle memory from 1997 is a feature. (See Controls.)

My ship keeps drifting — is that a bug? That's the game. Momentum is conserved; thrust is your only brake. Learning to fly is the game.

What's the difference between a zone and a sector? A zone is a whole world (galaxy + sectors + its own saves). A sector is one map inside it. The editor manages zones as world cards; the galaxy map (M) is how you travel between sectors in the active zone.

Can I play the original Subspace zones? Yes — online mode connects to live Continuum servers (opt-in during alpha, see Playing Online), and the editor's IMPORT .lvl brings real Subspace maps into single player.

Why is my energy the same bar as my health? Subspace's defining design decision. Every shot you fire is health you're spending. Aggression has a price; discipline wins duels.

The game froze / crashed — what do you need from me? OS, what you were doing, and whether it happens again. If you can, grab the ba_crash.log file next to the game after a crash — it says exactly where things went wrong. See Alpha Testing.

Will there be multiplayer between Beyond Aphelion players? That's the roadmap — zones you build becoming worlds others visit. The alpha is about making the single-player foundation and the editor rock-solid first.
